1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Tab Harbor browser extension for Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. It explains what information the extension handles, why it is needed, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.

This policy covers the current local-backup version of Tab Harbor. The extension does not require an account and does not include cloud synchronization, analytics, advertising, payment processing, or remote code.

2. Information Tab Harbor handles

To provide its session-backup and restoration features, Tab Harbor handles the following information from regular browser windows:

• Tab URLs and page titles
• Favicons when the browser makes them available
• Tab order, pinned state, muted state, and active state
• Tab-group membership, group names, colors, and collapsed states
• Window arrangement and saved-session timestamps
• Your backup interval, retention, and appearance settings

Private and incognito windows are intentionally excluded. Tab Harbor does not read page contents, form entries, passwords, cookies, authentication information, personal communications, keystrokes, or financial information.

3. How information is used and stored

Tab Harbor uses browsing-session information only to create, organize, inspect, export, and restore the backups requested by its user-facing features. Saved sessions and extension settings are stored in the browser's local extension storage on your device.

If you select Export, Tab Harbor creates a JSON backup file through your browser's download system. The file is saved only to the location you choose. Imported and exported files remain under your control and are not uploaded by the extension.

You choose how many automatic backups Tab Harbor retains. You can delete individual sessions, change the retention setting, or remove the extension. Removing the extension causes the browser to remove its local extension storage according to the browser's normal uninstall behavior.

Files that you manually export are stored outside the extension and must be deleted by you through your device's file manager if you no longer want them.

6. Security

Tab Harbor limits data handling to what is necessary for session backup and restoration. All executable code is included in the installed extension package; it does not download or execute remote code. As with any locally stored browser information, access to your device or browser profile may expose saved sessions, so you should protect your device account and exported backup files.

7. Changes to this policy

If Tab Harbor adds features that materially change how information is handled—such as optional accounts, subscriptions, or encrypted cloud synchronization—this policy and the applicable store disclosures will be updated before those features are made available. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest revision.
